Position Overview
ERM Digital Services designs and delivers the data and digital solutions that clients need to navigate the evolving sustainability landscape. Our digital tools and transformations help organizations reduce reputational risk and boost operational performance, establishing a unified source of sustainability data.
ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant (PC) to join our Digital Services team. This role will manage in digital transformation projects, ensuring successful implementation of platforms such as Enablon, Sphera, Workiva, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, and other ESG/EHS systems. The PM will manage the full project lifecycle and deliver measurable client outcomes aligned with ERM’s sustainability vision.
This is a client-facing consulting role, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations using ERM-approved tools.
- Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and deadlines, using clear expectations and agreed-upon deliverables.
- Monitor and track progress, manage risks, and ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget.
- Work closely with ERM Partners to align project delivery with client strategy and ERM’s quality standards.
- Budget & Forecast Management
- Use ERM systems to track budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Support team members in forecasting consultant hours by tracking progress and ensuring accurate projections to maintain budget compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for internal governance and client transparency.
- Manage client invoicing processes accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Client Engagement
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by fostering trust, ensuring clear communication, and proactively addressing needs to support successful project outcomes.
- Lead client meetings, facilitate workshops, and act as the primary point of contact.
- Translate client requirements into actionable deliverables and ensure alignment throughout the project.
- Tool & Technology Adaptability
- Utilize a variety of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Planner, Smartsheet, ADO, Azure DevOps or others) based on client needs.
- Demonstrate adaptability by quickly learning and effectively using ERM and client-specific tools and systems, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Google Workspace, DocuSign, Power BI Dashboards, and other platforms.
- Ensure integration with ERM’s internal systems for governance and reporting.
- Digital Implementation
- Coordinate configuration, deployment, and sustainment of digital platforms.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure readiness and quality delivery.
- Change Management
- Partner with ERM’s Change Management team to ensure activities such as training and communications are accurately scoped.
- Align project plans with change plans throughout the project lifecycle to maintain consistency and stakeholder readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Digital Transformation, or related field.
- Experience:
- 6+ years in project management, preferably in digital transformation or ESG/EHS systems.
- Proven experience in client-facing consulting roles.
- Skills:
- Strong PM fundamentals (planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement).
- Proficiency with PM tools and ERM systems for budget/forecast tracking.
- Tech-savvy and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English and Spanish.
- Certifications: PMP or equivalent preferred; PROSCI certification is a plus.
