As Principal Analytics Engineer, you will define and drive the architecture, modeling standards and core analytical foundations that power enterprise-wide insights and AI-driven analytics. You will enable scalable data models, aligned KPIs, and intelligent analytical experiences that accelerate decision-making across AutoScout24.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Define and evolve the architecture for enterprise analytical models with a strong focus on scalability, clarity and long-term robustness 
  • Design and maintain advanced semantic layers to unify KPIs and analytical logic across business domains 
  • Set technical direction, align stakeholders and drive adoption of modern modeling practices across the organisation 
  • Lead the definition and implementation of AI-driven analytical capabilities, including text-to-SQL, automated insights, semantic modeling for AI and conversational analytical interfaces 
  • Develop modeling patterns, documentation standards and workflows that improve analytical efficiency and usability 
  • Partner with data platform, engineering and analytics teams to deliver high-performance pipelines from ingestion to consumption 
  • Optimise AWS cloud-native services (Glue, Athena, S3, MWAA) to support scalable analytical and AI workloads 
  • Continuously improve modeling patterns, performance and development processes to raise overall technical maturity 
  • Mentor analytics engineers and analysts to strengthen modeling skills and consistent technical standards 
  • Deliver high-quality semantic assets that fuel self-service analytics, reporting and AI-powered insights 

 

YOU COME WITH 

  • 7+ years in advanced Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering roles, with deep experience building and scaling enterprise analytical models 
  • Strong ability to influence technical and business stakeholders and drive architectural alignment 
  • Proven leadership across complex data initiatives, with a proactive, collaborative and solution-driven mindset 
  • Demonstrated experience in AI-driven analytics, including text-to-SQL, automated insights, semantic modeling for AI and conversational BI 
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with AWS (Glue, Athena, S3, MWAA) and familiarity with BigQuery 
  • Expert-level Python and PySpark skills for large-scale analytical processing 
  • Expert-level SQL and mastery of dimensional modeling techniques 
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security and compliance in analytical system design 
  • Proven ability to optimise large datasets, improve performance and troubleshoot complex system behaviours
