Job Summary: THIS IS A ND NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Military membership is NOT required. This ND National Guard position is for a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF), Position Description Number T0029P01 and is part of the ND G1, National Guard.

Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. B. Combination of education and experience that provided the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field (e.g. counseling, psychology, etc.). The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Applicants may meet minimum qualification requirements through experience equivalent to a 4-year degree. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialize experience includes: 1) Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; 2) Preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; 3) Evaluating objectives and developing plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources; and 4) Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
