Pricing Consultant – Private Banking

ACT (Amsterdam - Acanthus) Full time

The role

Would you like to make an impact on the growth strategy of Private Banking? Do you have strong analytical and communication skills? Do you get energized from complexity? To facilitate our Private Banking growth ambition, we are looking for a Pricing Consultant with strong expertise in Market Risk Management to further strengthen our Private Banking pricing team.

The team & culture

This challenging and varied position offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic environment of Private Banking & Wealth Management. You will build a broad internal network, working closely with colleagues and senior stakeholders across the domain.

You will be part of a professional team of around ten colleagues. The department enables the strategic direction and drives execution of segment strategies within Private Banking & Wealth Management, with a strong focus on digital innovation, risk management, data-driven decision-making and pricing & proposition excellence. Together, the team is responsible for achieving the commercial results of the Private Banking domain. This will allow you to learn from other colleagues and teams within the department and better understand the business of Private Banking.

We are always learning and improving. This is an integral part of our culture. That also means we expect the same from you. If you are open and honest towards yourself and your colleagues, we believe that this will significantly help you in your own development. Together with your Lead you can setup a personal development plan for which a budget is available.

Next to our work we also organize social events, such as regular drinks and team events.

Your responsibilities

The role of a pricing consultant is twofold: on the one hand, you are running the business and executing the pricing strategy, and on the other hand, you are working on strategic pricing projects to transform the business. As a Pricing Consultant, you are a driving force in furthering the pricing strategy together with your pricing colleagues. You play a leading role in the pricing strategy and tactics, establish clear pricing frameworks, steer the balance sheet of private banking and projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end responsibility for the pricing strategy of the Private Banking product portfolio in the Netherlands.
  • Ownership of list pricing, based on market trends, cost of funds, behavioral assumptions, risk developments and competitor pricing strategies.
  • A central role in asset & liability replication, interest rate risk transfer and interaction with Treasury.
  • Translating interest rate scenarios and market risk insights into concrete, commercially viable pricing proposals.
  • Preparing pricing proposals, aligning with all relevant stakeholders and presenting them in pricing committees.
  • Supporting implementation, external communication and embedding pricing decisions into operational systems.
  • Contributing to strategic projects such as price elasticity analyses, optimization of pricing models, savings strategy under different interest rate scenarios and pricing of new propositions.

On a daily basis, you work closely with fellow pricing consultants, a data analyst and Segment Management teams. You collaborate intensively with (senior) stakeholders from Sales, Digital Private Banking, Delivery Tribes, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk, Market Risk Management and Treasury. You are also part of the broader Pricing Community, aligning pricing topics and best practices across ING NL.

Who are you

You are a senior professional with a strong market risk background who is able to connect risk insights with commercial pricing decisions.

You bring:

  • A completed university degree in Business Economics, Business Administration, Econometrics, or related discipline.
  • Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, with the ability to form a clear vision, substantiate it with facts, and articulate it convincingly.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills, combined with a decisive, results-driven mindset and proven stakeholder management experience.
  • The confidence to speak up, challenge perspectives, and give and receive feedback constructively.
  • A strong drive to create impact by continuously improving product and pricing propositions to maximize value creation for ING.
  • At least five years of proven experience in Market Risk Management, Treasury, or Asset & Liability Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of interest rate risk in the banking book, interest rate risk transfer, and balance sheet management.
