Job Description:
Purpose of Job:
The Prevention officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of GBV prevention activities through Peoples Corner operations; mobilizing community leaders and men & boy’s inclusion of religious/Faith leaders both at camp and host community; women and girls from the community to participate in awareness campaigns and discussions/dialogue on GBV, conducting community trainings, supervising community outreach facilitators and managing budget lines for prevention activities. The officer will also work with the community with close collaborations with site management and others actors & sector staff to identify GBV risks and share findings on a regular basis to inform advocacy.
Key Deliverables:
The position is accountable for the following:
- Oversee and ensure of Peoples Corner operations and service delivery to the GBV vulnerable according to Project design documents.
- Implement approaches /model/tools of Peoples Corner/Male Engagement that contribute to competency development and integration of advocacy which contribute to positive changes among people’s behaviour towards ending Gender Base violence and Sub Sector policies and practices.
- To ensure implementation of activities according to DIP, Budget & Activities Narrative.
- To Support in the response program to achieve the organizational vision, mission and program objectives.
- To implement GBV prevention activities in the field level in coordination with project staff.
- To ensure timely and proper implementation of prevention activities
Key Accountabilities
Activities Implementation & Management:
- Implement Day to Day operations of Peoples Corner at Camp and Leaders house.
- Motivate and ensure teamwork among Peoples Corner’s assistants and outreach workers for greater ministry impact, in the community
- Work in liaison with service providers, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
- Take full responsibility for quality implementation of Peoples Corner, GBV activities such as awareness, MEGE session, life skill based education session for boys, faith leader training etc.
- Coordinate with all sector based agencies in the camps to ensure compliance to inter agency and World Vision International standards for implementing GBV in emergencies as well as gender mainstreaming.
- Organize meetings with men and boys as well as faith groups to ensure effective participation and support in the respective project activities.
- Implement Project activities as per DIP.
- Actively support pre-distribution activities for NFI distribution i.e beneficiary assessment and sensitization.
- Ensure documentation in an appropriate manner.
- Organize the awareness raising, campaign event/program in communities’ level at camp area coordinating with different stakeholders
- Maintain strong collaboration and cooperation with response team
Partnership, Networking & Advocacy:
- Establish and liaise closely with other partners, agencies and local leaders regarding project activities to ensure a coordinated approach to project implementation, including participation in relevant workshops, meetings and to keep the GBV Manager informed.
- Participate in interagency assessments.
- Coordinate/linkage with relevant between Government stakeholders and field staff,
- Establish network / coalition with like-minded organizations on GBV issues and initiate joint advocacy
Trainings and capacity building:
- Safely link up survivors who wish to disclose and seek support for their GBV experiences with GBV case management services offered at the women space.
- Disseminate information to the community on where and how to report GBV incidences and encourage reporting
- Document and share key GBV risks identified during implementation
- Assist communities identify their priorities, opportunities and resources for effective GBV prevention & response, participation and psychosocial project implementation.
Monitoring and evaluation:
- Purchase requests and relevant documents in advance to facilitate implementation of planned activities.
- Checking, storage of all documents such as master role, approvals etc.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in any discipline preferably in Social science/Social welfare/Psychology/Anthropology/Law/Gender studies.
- Post graduate degree
Knowledge & Skills
- Clear Understanding on the issues project has to work on.
- Knowledge on current development and emergence issues
- Good conceptual and practical skill to write project concept paper and design documents of the project.
- Good knowledge and skills in forecasting and budgeting
- Baseline survey, Evaluation and Monitoring process and tools.
- Good facilitation skill of Training, Seminar and Advocacy programs.
- Proven management and leadership ability
- Good communication and networking skill
- Chittagong/Rohingya language skills will be taken into consideration. Good command in English & Bengali, both written and verbal.
- Decision making and conflict resolution skills
- Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation
Experience: (The experience gained - including environment, timeframe and context)
- Ability to work under stressful condition and adaptive to local culture and situation
- At least 3 years relevant work experience especially Under JPF Funded Project.
- World Vision experience
Work Environment: Must be able to do multiple tasks and willingness to travel in various locations of BRCR as required.
