Job Summary

This role is responsible for building strong customer relationships and tailoring technical solutions for their unique business needs while supporting recommendations with compelling business cases. The role manages proof-of-concept projects, contributes to technical documentation, and simplifies technical information for customers. Additionally, the consultant collaborates closely with sales teams, qualifies opportunities, and provides technical expertise throughout the presales cycle. The role analyzes market competition, gathers customer feedback, and shares insights with the product development team for improvement.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with customers and technical decision-makers, understanding their evolving needs and providing valuable insights.

  • Collaborate with sales teams and customers to design customized solutions that address customer requirements and align with the company's offerings.

  • Conduct meetings and presentations with potential and existing customers to gather information about IT infrastructure, challenges, and goals.

  • Assist customers in building compelling business cases that demonstrate ROI and the value of adopting proposed solutions.

  • Qualify potential services and software opportunities and develop comprehensive technical solutions addressing customer pain points.

  • Translate complex technical information into easily understandable terms, highlighting the business value of the organization’s offerings.

  • Gather, synthesize, and communicate customer feedback and requirements to internal teams for product development and improvement.

Presales Support

  • Design and manage proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate feasibility and value of proposed solutions.

  • Contribute to the creation of comprehensive technical documentation, including whitepapers, case studies, and technical specifications.

  • Analyze strengths and weaknesses of competing products and provide insights to position the organization’s products effectively.

  • Prepare technical responses to RFPs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer needs.

  • Provide training to sales teams and other presales consultants on new product features and sales strategies.

  • Support proof-of-concepts and provide hands-on technical assistance during hardware, software, and services evaluations.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Technical Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

  • Typically 4–7 years of work experience in technical selling, consultative selling, presales, or account management, or an advanced degree with 3–5 years of experience.

Preferred Certifications

  • CCNA, CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar certifications are a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure, networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity principles.

  • Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, SaaS, virtualization, APIs, and enterprise application software.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with strategic thinking ability.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

  • Effective outcome-based questioning techniques and consultative communication skills.

Language Requirements

  • English: Must be at a strong level equivalent to CEFR C1 or higher. Candidates must be able to communicate fluently in a business context with clear and professional pronunciation.

  • German: Preferred but not mandatory.
