The PPA Program Manager plays a central role in shaping the student experience within the Professional Program in Accounting (PPA) and related graduate accounting pathways. This position leads the daily rhythm of the program, overseeing operations, guiding strategic initiatives, and ensuring that everything from advising to admissions runs smoothly and with purpose. You’ll coordinate the full student lifecycle, partnering closely with advising, recruitment, and career development teams to deliver a seamless, high‑quality journey for future accounting professionals.
Beyond day‑to‑day management, the Program Manager builds the policies, processes, and data-informed practices that help students thrive academically and professionally. You’ll serve as a key connector among students, faculty, and campus partners, strengthening communication, streamlining workflows, and fostering an environment where students feel supported and engaged. Professional Program in Accounting (PPA) Management & Administration - Plans, organize, directs, and manages the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of the program to ensure effective and efficient delivery. Develops, documents, implements, and continuously improves procedures and processes for program administration, advising workflows, and operational coordination. Assists in the development and execution of strategic plans, goals, and initiatives in support of program priorities and long-term objectives. Ensures program operations align with university, college, and departmental policies, procedures, and applicable compliance or accreditation requirements. Coordinates program logistics, timelines, and deliverables to support academic, advising, recruitment, and career development functions. Develops, updates, and produces program materials, reports, handbooks, presentations, and other resources designed to support program operations and communications. Collects, analyzes, and monitors program data related to enrollment, progression, retention, and completion to support data-informed planning and decision-making. Prepares and maintains administrative, academic, advising, and enrollment reports as required. Manages program records, documentation, and administrative systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reporting readiness. Research develops, and drafts white papers, grant applications, proposals, and supporting documentation as needed. Serves as a liaison with faculty, program leadership, and campus partners to facilitate communication and resolve operational issues. Participates in meetings, committees, and cross-functional initiatives related to program management and administration. Assist with the management and administration of other graduate accounting programs (as needed).
Academic Advising - Delivers advising services through in-person appointments, walk-in availability, email, and phone communication. Reviews degree plans and processes course substitutions, add/drops, Q-drops, withdrawals, and changes of curriculum using professional judgment and established policies. Monitors completion of degree requirements and ensures academic progress toward graduation. Advises students experiencing academic, probationary, financial, or personal concerns; monitors probationary terms as appropriate and determines courses of action or referrals. Reviews, evaluates, and recommends student readmission applications when applicable. Collaborates and communicates with faculty and staff across departments to enhance advising effectiveness and student outcomes. Interprets and applies university, college, and program rules, policies, and procedures. Refers students to appropriate campus resources for academic preparation, time management, test anxiety, study skills, and personal support. Utilizes COMPASS and Howdy for student registration, degree evaluation, prerequisite verification, and academic tracking.
Program Recruitment & Admissions - Manages and coordinates recruitment and admission processes for the PPA. Assists with recruitment and admissions processes for non-PPA accounting graduate accounting programs (as needed). Assists in developing, updating, and distributing informational and recruitment materials for prospective students. Assists in planning and executing recruiting initiatives across two annual recruitment cycles. Supports recruitment events and on-campus experiences for prospective students. Interviews applicants and provides input and recommendations related to admission decisions. Oversees and updates undergraduate student majors in COMPASS upon admission to the PPA or graduate accounting programs. Create graduate student applications, formally processes admissions, and updates student curriculum records in the appropriate semester.
Career & Professional Development Services - Plans, organizes, and manages career and professional development activities for PPA and graduate accounting students. Develops and implements processes, procedures, and programming to support student career readiness. Provides individualized career advising, including career exploration, employer and industry research, and career planning. Advises students on job search strategies, résumé and cover letter development, networking, and interview preparation. Designs and delivers career development programming tailored to PPA students and graduate accounting students. Collaborate with the Assistant Director on events with Career Center, and Corporate Relations team to enhance employer engagement and career opportunities.
What You Need to Know
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000/annually

Other Requirements and Factors: May require occasional work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience.
Manage program in Higher Ed or related experience.
A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Texas A&M Program Management experience or similar relevant experience.
Ability to (or willingness to learn) a student information management system such as Howdy or COMPASS. Ability to learn and navigate our database systems.
Knowledge of student information systems, degree planning, and degree audits/evaluations.
Strong decision-making skills.
Ability to manage, plan and organize effectively.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, listening, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills. Must be an effective communicator in large group (auditorium), small group (classroom), and one-on-one settings.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
