We are now seeking candidates to fill the position, Policy & Public Affairs (PPA) & External Communications Senior Manager.

The Senior Manager, and External Communications, is responsible for developing, implementing, and measuring strategic public affairs and communications programs that advance business objectives and enhance the company’s reputation in Denmark. This role operates independently, leading integrated public affairs and communications initiatives across key therapeutic areas, engaging diverse stakeholders, and ensuring message consistency in a dynamic and complex environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will:
- Independently develop and execute integrated public affairs and communication strategies to strengthen corporate reputation and support business objectives at the country level.
- Implement innovative communication and public affairs initiatives aligned with global and local commercial strategies, including priority late-stage research assets, new product launches, and cross-business unit initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patient advocacy organizations, policymakers, and media to drive stakeholder engagement.
- Deliver public affairs initiatives that shape dialogue around access to key commercial assets.
- Manage issues and crisis situations ensuring readiness and effective response to product or therapeutic area challenges.
- Ensure all corporate affairs activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, especially regarding interactions with government officials and third parties.
- Effectively manage agencies and external partners to deliver superior results, including oversight of contracting, material approval, and data management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (media relations, policy teams) to ensure message consistency and support for core priorities and initiatives.
- Support the development of briefing materials, talking points, and executive communications for senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum requirements:
- Strong experience in corporate affairs (public affairs, policy, communications, patient relations, media, CSR, issues management), preferably from the Danish Life Science Industry and Healthcare Environment.
- Proven experience engaging and collaborating with partner stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups, medical organizations, and media.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute public affairs and communications strategies with measurable results.
- Experience managing issues from a media perspective and delivering effective crisis communications.
- Excellent project management, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills in both local language and English.
- Degree-level education or equivalent vocational qualification; advanced degree preferred in law, business, public health, or international policy.
- Familiarity with relevant law and codes of practice governing healthcare and pharmaceutical communications activities.
- Commitment to company values, ethical standards, and professional demeanor.
- Exceptional understanding of public affairs and policy in driving business goals, and deep knowledge of the public policymaking process.
- Proven relationship-building skills.
- AI fluency.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective, innovative, and practical public affairs and policy solutions.
- Strong interpersonal acumen, with experience operating on a company leadership team.
- Well-organized, highly motivated, creative, and analytical problem solver.
