About the Role

We’re looking for a Power Plant Area Supervisor for Maintenance at Alcoa Warrick and this new addition to our team will be responsible to advise the activities of Team Leaders, Control Operators, Plant Operators, and Maintenance Personnel to produce electricity, potable water, smelting steam, and high temperature water for use in the smelting plant. The supervisor will coordinate activities with internal suppliers and external customers, while ensuring that members have the vital equipment, parts, and tools to perform their jobs. This professional will also supervise activities with related areas, such as maintenance, coal handling, other production groups, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safe execution of mechanical maintenance, enforcing site safety procedures and high‑risk work controls.
  • Supervise and develop a union mechanical workforce, assigning work, managing priorities, and applying the labor agreement consistently.
  • Own the mechanical work order lifecycle in Oracle EAM, driving schedule compliance, backlog health, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, forced outage response, and reliability improvement efforts, including PdM findings and basic RCA.
  • Partner with the Warehouse to ensure material availability, kitting, and critical spare readiness.
  • Oversee contractor work and support outage and major maintenance planning and execution.
  • Manage labor, overtime, and costs while communicating execution risks and corrective actions.

What You Can Bring to the Role

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or power generation environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a union environment and work effectively within a labor agreement.
  • Strong safety leadership with experience enforcing high-risk work controls.
  • CMMS experience managing work execution (work order quality, scheduling coordination, closeout discipline).
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on other shifts and/or come in early or stay late as needed.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
