Here’s a Glimpse of the Job

Texas A&M’s Chemistry Department is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on projects in the general area of inorganic chemistry, with a particular focus on main group Lewis acids for applications in ligand design and catalysis. Additional responsibilities include preparing manuscripts, developing research proposals, and supporting graduate and undergraduate student mentoring, as well as contributing to overall research group organization.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Conducts research in inorganic chemistry, with a focus on organic, transition metal, and main group Lewis acids for applications in ligand design and catalysis.

  • Maintains and operates required research instrumentation and laboratory equipment.

  • Analyzes experimental data and participates in data discussion and dissemination through group meetings.

  • Prepares manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers, presentations, and grant proposals.

  • Presents research results at group meetings and other appropriate scientific venues.

  • Attends scientific meetings, seminars, and conferences to enhance research knowledge and professional development.

  • Stays current with scientific literature and emerging research in the field.

  • Provides guidance and assistance to laboratory team members and serves as a mentor to students.

  • Ensures laboratory instrumentation is properly maintained and adheres to all applicable safety standards and protocols.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate PhD.

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Special Note: This position is funded from a grant and/or contract which is renewed under the provisions for the grantor of the contract. Your offer of employment is dependent on continued funding.
