The candidate (100% research) is expected to carry out these duties:

  • Independently completes advanced research related to microbial safety of food, particularly covering food decontamination, microbial biofilms, and antimicrobial resistance.
  • Helps in developing fundable proposals, leading to research projects that advance current scientific knowledge.
  • Assist other lab members accomplish their research tasks efficiently.
  • Prepares research findings as publications in high-impact journals.
  • Present research findings to broad audience in national and international scientific meetings, and when needed to discipline’s stakeholders.

Additional Information:

Required knowledge

  • Capable of applying advanced knowledge that improves the safety of food.
  • Ability to develop solutions to challenges that are facing the food industry, particularly in the food safety arena.
  • Have the vision to positively impact the future of our discipline.

Educational level and experience

  • Ph. D. degree in food science, food engineering, microbiology, or related fields.
  • Two years (at least) of research experience in microbiology-related laboratories.
