Summary of Job Duties:

The Postdoctoral Fellow will support and contribute to research initiatives under the supervision of Dr. Analiz Rodriguez. This position focuses on advancing projects across multiple funded research grants, including study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings.

The fellow will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, assist in manuscript and grant preparation, and contribute to the overall success of ongoing and future research efforts. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate research records, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards, and participating in presentations, publications, and other scholarly activities.


Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., M.D., or D.V.M. in Neuroscience or a related field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience securing or supporting research grant funding

  • Experience with laboratory techniques, methodologies, and equipment

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills


Additional Information:

Resonsibilities:

  • Conduct research activities for funded and proposed grant projects under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and collaborators
  • Assist in developing and refining research protocols; gather background data to support ongoing and future studies

  • Troubleshoot experimental methods and recommend improvements to enhance research quality and outcomes

  • Maintain accurate, detailed records of all research activities, including data, observations, and supporting documentation (e.g., images)

  • Ensure compliance with institutional, departmental, and federal research guidelines and regulation

  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and publications

  • Assist with grant proposal development, submissions, and amendments in accordance with applicable policies and regulations

  • Present research findings through written reports and oral presentations at meetings or conferences

  • Support site visits, audits, and reviews by sponsors and regulatory agencies

  • Participate in seminars, trainings, and team meetings to support professional development

  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and research teams

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator or department leadership, aligned with role scope and expertise

  • Maintain a safe laboratory environment and complete all required safety trainings

  • Track and manage equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and service documentation


This position is a Designated Research Position and involves scientific investigation or development that involves technologies, designs, or technical data considered sensitive enough to potentially impact national security and therefore requires strict controls on export or transfer to foreign entities. The Arkansas Research & Education Protection Act of 2025 requires the University to obtain additional information about your background for this Research Position.


Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience.
