- Salary Package: $99,161 - $109,457 per annum (HEW Level 6) plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading (commensurate with experience)
- Full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment until July 2027

As a Course/Education Support Officer in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, you will be at the heart of education operations, providing expert guidance to academic staff, coordinating key processes across the course lifecycle, and helping to shape a seamless experience for students and teaching teams alike. Working within a supportive and collegial course support team, you will draw on your knowledge of higher education policy and governance to deliver timely, accurate advice and high-quality administrative support.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and experienced Course/Education Support Officer with a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail. This role involves delivering expert guidance and operational support to academic staff, ensuring excellence in the coordination and delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences.

Reporting to the Course Support Team Leader and working within a collegial course support team, you will contribute to course quality and student experience by offering timely and accurate advice and support across all aspects of course and unit delivery. The role will be responsible for the coordination of operational and administrative support across the lifecycle of a course/courses, as well as working with academic staff to coordinate annual planning, committee meetings, exam support, and acting as a key liaison for teaching staff.

This role offers flexible work while requiring full-time on-campus presence during peak periods, which may include occasional out-of-hours commitments and Saturday work to support critical activities.

  • A strong understanding of tertiary education policies, processes and course/ unit governance structures.

  • Experience in providing policy advice and information within a higher education setting.

  • Experience supporting education delivery and/or complex student service operations.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A proactive, collaborative and customer-focused approach.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work with a range of stakeholders, including committees, as well as a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Selection Criteria

  • A degree or tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience,

  • Knowledge of tertiary education policies, processes, and course/unit governance structures,

  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work with committees and stakeholders,

  • Experience providing policy advice, preferably in a higher education setting,

  • Experience providing support and advice in the delivery of education and/or complex student services settings,

  • Experience developing annual planning documentation and project plans,

  • High-level administrative skills and data analysis experience,

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, and ability to meet competing deadlines,

  • Ability to implement and improve administrative processes,

  • Intermediate computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, database management systems and applications), and

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting formal documentation and submissions.
