DESCRIPTION:
Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Portfolio Manager, where you'll contribute to growth and innovation across our industry-leading life science portfolio. You'll develop product strategy, guide new product introductions, execute marketing and commercial initiatives, and position the portfolio for customer success while making a meaningful impact on science and healthcare. Working collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams, you'll translate customer needs into effective solutions that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

As a key member of the Portfolio Management team, you will:

  • Own and drive performance of strategic supplier portfolios, managing categories and/or suppliers with spend exceeding $200M, ensuring alignment to business strategy, financial targets, and customer value.
  • Lead supplier and product strategy execution, including negotiations and performance management, while proactively expanding executive-level relationships to strengthen category positioning and deliver measurable growth, margin, and service outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver business results, partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to translate portfolio strategy into commercial execution, optimize supply continuity, and enhance the customer experience.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in product management, marketing or related commercial experience in life sciences/scientific products industry
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Business or related field
  • Additional certifications in Product Management or Marketing beneficial
  • Demonstrated success managing complex product portfolios and supporting business growth
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities for forecasting and business planning
  • Experience with contract negotiation and execution
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to guide cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful product launches and marketing campaigns
  • Proficiency with business applications including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Customer-centric mindset with consultative approach to solution development
  • Travel required up to 10%
  • Domain expertise in relevant scientific/technical areas preferred
