Portfolio and Governance Manager, North Asia and SEAA

Contract: 6-month Fixed-term (Maternity cover)

Your role @ CHANEL 

 

Orchestrate and govern the endtoend IT and digital project portfolio for North Asia and SEAA, ensuring strategic alignment, consistent prioritization, financial integrity, operational transparency, and crossregional synchronization with global, regional, and market stakeholders.

Portfolio Governance & Strategic Alignment 

  • Establish and coordinate a unified view of the pipeline across both regions, ensuring visibility and synchronization with market CIOs and global domain owners.  

  • Capture project performance, ensuring alignment to strategic plans and KPIs to be reviewed with CIO NA&SEAA. 

Portfolio Intake, Categorization & Prioritization 

  • Manage the project intake process, ensuring completeness, clarity, and consistency of project ID cards and business cases.  

  • Apply categorization principles (Priorities / Initiatives / Run) and ensure alignment with regional frameworks (NA & SEAA). 

  • Highlight interdependencies and resource constraints affecting prioritization with focus on global and local initiatives impacting regional teams. 

Financial Governance & discipline 

  • Partner with Finance to ensure coherence between project portfolio, budget envelopes, and regional/market cost allocations. 

  • Ensure correct mapping of purpose codes, GL accounts, domains, project types, and consolidation logic (e.g., CRAFT, Zenith, GITA, COUPA). 

  • Support budgeting cycles (FQ1, B25, MTP 2628) through scenario modeling, consolidation, and validation. 
     

Governance Process & Continuous Improvement 

  • Champion and advocate governance standards, templates, and methodologies (Project ID cards, CER, vendor reviews). 

  • Support implementation of global portfolio governance processes in collaboration with Global IT Portfolio teams and CEO Office (Zenith, NOVA tools for portfolio management) 

  • Act as a catalyst for operational simplicity and crossregion harmonization (e.g., NA × SEAA project governance alignment, vendor management, dashboarding for CIO). 
     

CrossFunctional Collaboration 

  • Act as a connector between Tech, Finance, markets, and Global partners (Global governance bodies). 

  • Facilitate crossregional understanding of project impact, interdependence and stakeholder responsibilities. 

  • Engage actively with Presidents’ Offices in NA and SEAA on portfolio matters, where relevant. 

  • Suggest and implement improvement of existing processes linked to budgeting, landing and governance instances (project, portfolio, vendor management) 

  • Ensure procurement processes are followed and suggest improvement for accelerating resource onboarding.

  • Collaborating with global to ensure balance between initiatives coming from global, regional and various markets. 

  • Supporting the budgeting exercises and facilitating discussion to optimize budget (BUILD / RUN). 

  • Supporting domain and sub-domain leaders in budget landing and burn rate to ensure agility in budget reallocation 

  • Supporting reporting to global Tech finance and global tech portfolio. 

  • Suggesting adoption of global practices, standard or technology for standardization and simplification. 

  • Supporting the Tech department on phasing and timing of initiatives for budget performance. 

 

What you can bring to the team… 

  • Academic / Professional Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration or similar discipline 

  • Work Experience 

  • 5+ years of strategic planning, program and portfolio management or financial control for tech department 

  • Experience with Project Management Methodologies  

  • Experience working at a Regional and/or Global role within a multinational company 

  • Experience in working in complex environment and large MNC
