Portfolio Account Executive

The Portfolio Account Executive is responsible for building, contracting, and growing a high quality portfolio of education providers that power the Workforce Edge (WFE) Marketplace. This role owns the full lifecycle of provider partnerships, from sourcing and onboarding to performance optimization, and plays a critical role in ensuring the marketplace delivers meaningful workforce outcomes for employer clients. As the primary relationship owner for assigned education providers, this role partners closely with Portfolio Strategy, Enterprise Solutions, and Product teams to align provider offerings with employer demand, marketplace strategy, and growth objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provider Acquisition & Portfolio Growth

  • Partner with Portfolio Strategy to shape provider mix and marketplace direction to meet the needs of our employer partners and their workforce.
  • Partner to identify, evaluate, and onboard universities, colleges, and training organizations that align with WFE portfolio strategy and program criteria.
  • Once identified, lead the relationship with potential providers from discovery through contracting and launch.
  • Serve as a consultative partner to providers, articulating WFE value proposition and marketplace expectations.
  • Lead contract discussions and renewal agreements with academic institutions, ensuring compliance and favorable terms for all parties.


Partnership Management & Performance

  • Own day-to-day provider relationships, serving as the primary point of contact post‑‑implementation.
  • Translate provider performance data into actionable recommendations that drive learner engagement, utilization, and outcomes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve provider partnerships, expand offerings, or address gaps in the portfolio.
  • Liaise across all internal stakeholder groups to drive the selection and onboarding of new education providers.

Work Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in higher education partnerships, business development, or related fields.

Education:

  • B.A, B.S or equivalent work experience required, Advance Degree preferred.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%). 
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
  • If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
  • Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

  • Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers.

$75,800.00 - $113,700.00 - Salary
