As a Policy Specialist, you will act as a vital bridge for employers by demystifying the premium system and clarifying complex premium obligations to ensure they fully grasp how Standard Claims Estimates (SCEs) directly impact their premium calculations.

You will empower these organisations to improve their workplace performance by effectively navigating the premium incentive framework, ultimately turning policy insights into tangible safety and financial outcomes

This will be a permanent, full time position based in the Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pro-actively manage the Agent's debtors by controlling the value, number, age, and proportion of outstanding premium
  • Manage all employer WorkSafe insurance policy information including registering new policy applications, maintaining policy information such as adding new workplaces, reviewing, and reclassifying workplaces and updating remuneration
  • Understand and apply the methodology that is used in the calculation of employer premiums and ensure this is effectively communicated to employers
  • Comprehend the legislative framework for WorkSafe insurance including policy creation and maintenance as well as premium collection and the framework for legal debt recovery action
  • Ensure all communication with WorkSafe is in accordance with EML’s Communication Policy
     

ABOUT YOU

  • An understanding of the relevant statutory acts and associated regulations and guidelines associated with Premium and Policy
  • Strong client focus with strong relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills
  • High attention to detail and analytical, organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines with competing priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and strong computer literacy
  • Understanding of financial concepts
