Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Police Officer (Combat Arms) (Indefinite), Position Description Number D2156000 and is part of the VA 192 SEF SQ, National Guard.
Major Duties:

WHO CAN APPLY: GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Member (E3/A1C- E6/TSgt) employed (permanent) in the Virginia Air National Guard Military Technician Program. GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Member (E3/A1C- E6/TSgt) regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period. GROUP III - Individuals eligible for membership in the Virginia Air National Guard. Military Grades: Enlisted Member E3/A1C- E6/TSgt GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-7 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experienced in performing Combat Arms Training. Experienced in overseeing the work activities of subordinates and/or traditional Guardsmen. Experienced in managing and overseeing the installation ground weapons training and maintenance program; serves as an instructor and inspects ground weapons. Experienced in performing and enforcing the full range of security forces duties. Investigation of Fitness A character investigation may be conducted on applicants selected for employment. The purpose of such an investigation is to secure evidence of the candidate's honesty, integrity, general character, and loyalty to the U.S. Government. Such investigations will be conducted under the security requirements of the hiring agency. (Based on OPM Guidance.)
