Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Platform Screen Door System (PSDS) Technician to work on our RIYADH Project.  This position will require someone who’s on their toes: a doer who’s looking to grow long-term within our business of railway and mass transit signaling system.  

The position is based in RIYADH, starting as soon as possible.

Mission

Constantly monitor the performances of the ongoing maintenance regime to ensure continual improvement of assets reliability and availability and, at the same time, an optimized lifecycle cost.

Accountabilities

• Assist the PSDS Supervisor in carrying out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities on Platform Screen Door System
• Carry out routine system inspections, inspecting parts for surface defects, changing of consumable items, perform minor repairs and technical cleaning.
• Perform time sensitive fault diagnostics and component replacement (repair on site or inside depot) on the Platform Screen Door System
• Follow the appropriate maintenance procedures and instructions, operating rules and procedures to ensure compliance with the Maintenance requirements.
• Produce and maintain accurate maintenance records of work accomplished and related information on Platform Screen Door System, tools and special tools requiring calibration, using handhelds or tablets for computerized maintenance management system(CMMS)
• Assist Supervisor  in ensuring only tools and special equipment that are calibrated and in date, are used for maintenance
• Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the PSDS Supervisor
• Implement and follow Permit To Work process
• Implement the LOTO procedure before commencement of work on the PSDS cabinets for any maintenance related activities
• Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
• Perform functional checks and tests of Platform Screen Door System and associated sub systems
• Perform roles necessary for the management of the safe system of work, including meeting tight maintenance schedules.
• Uphold Safety practices at all times in accordance with company procedures.
• Implement a culture of continuous improvement in maintenance delivery.

Skills & Experiences

• 0-3 years of experience in Railway industry.
• Ability to write simple technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required
• Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Prior experience in shunting and driving engineering vehicles and/or locomotives would be an added advantage

Minimum Qualification:

• Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent
• Strong Communication skills Arabic & English
