We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer Senior to design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure solutions in a primarily on-premises environment with hybrid cloud extensions. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, scalability, and reliability — with hands-on experience managing distributed systems and modern DevOps tooling.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, distributed platform architectures — primarily on-premises, with integrations to hybrid and public cloud environments.
- Develop, validate, and optimize system designs for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Deploy, operate, and support infrastructure solutions in data centers and hybrid setups.
- Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Support and maintain deployed systems, ensuring stability, observability, and uptime.
- Implement and manage configuration management solutions across hybrid and on-prem environments.
- Build and maintain Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines to automate deployment processes.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and service continuity (typically every few weeks).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including file system layout, package and user management, shell scripting, and general Unix administration.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Bash).
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with issue and change tracking tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab).
- Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and platform services, such as containers, centralized logging, and monitoring systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and pipeline management.
- Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation (user guides, tutorials, operational runbooks).
- Basic understanding of security and authentication principles (SSL/TLS, PKI).
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (WAN, LAN, DNS, OSI model, protocols).
- Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving environments.
- Positive attitude toward change and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Nomad, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), especially HashiCorp tools such as Terraform, Vault, Consul, or Packer.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Exposure to automation and DevOps best practices in complex on-prem and hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
