E-space

Platform Engineer

Arlington, TX Full Time
Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.

Role Overview
This role is for someone who can design systems that are scaled but also isn’t precious about building temporary things when we need a demo, a pilot, or something to show a room full of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
· Build and evolve a cloud-native backend on AWS
· Design APIs used by web apps, mobile apps, and devices
· Work heavily with PostgreSQL at scale
· Make architectural calls that balance speed now vs scale later
· Build temporary or throwaway systems for:
· Then later help replace or harden those systems for production
· Build async pipelines, background jobs, and event-driven workflows
· Help integrate AI-powered features into the platform
· Debug real production issues, not just green-field code

How You’ll Succeed Here
· You move fast without being reckless
· You’re comfortable saying “this is a demo” vs “this must survive production”
· You can build something scrappy for tomorrow’s meeting
· And help turn it into something solid next quarter
· You care about reliability, but you don’t block progress chasing perfection

Why This Role Is Interesting
· Early influence on architecture
· Real scale problems, not hypothetical ones
· Room to shape how the platform evolves
· Direct impact on product direction and technical decisions
· Demos
· Proofs of concept
· Investor or partner presentations

Tech Stack
· AWS (EC2, ECS or EKS, RDS, S3, IAM)
· PostgreSQL
· Python backend (likely Django or FastAPI)
· Queues, workers, async processing
· Redis or similar caching layer
· AI integrations where it makes sense
