Position: Plant Supply Chain Supervisor
Location: Molecular Diagnostics Business Unit, Des Plaines, Illinois

The Plant Supply Chain Supervisor is accountable for optimizing plant scheduling and ensuring production feasibility. This role leads a team of Production Schedulers and Material Handlers, driving performance against key KPIs such as monthly attainment, On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) kit delivery, manufacturing schedule adherence, and inventory accuracy. The position is responsible for resolving scheduling challenges, mitigating delays to final kit delivery, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and operations.

What You’ll Work On

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in Supply Planning and Production Scheduling.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Production Schedulers and Material Handlers to achieve monthly production and inventory objectives.
  • Manage production schedules for eight distinct manufacturing and QC testing areas supporting infectious disease and oncology diagnostics, including scheduling approximately 200 operators within a four-week horizon.
  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling to minimize impact on production.
  • Collaborate with Global Demand Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing to finalize monthly build plans for Finished Goods and subassemblies, considering capacity, equipment, volume targets, and raw material availability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce schedule variability, planned downtime, and production lead times.
  • Prepare and present monthly site supply review reports.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to support business initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with global Supply Planning, Sourcing, Order Management, Business Intelligence, IT, Logistics, NPI, Engineering, Finance, and Quality teams.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service through effective scheduling and data analysis to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Report KPI performance to senior management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree, plus 5 years related experience, or Bachelor of Art degree, plus 7 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supply chain or operations environment.
  • Requires excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and gain consensus across functional areas
  • Must be skilled user of Microsoft Excel.

Preferred

  • Expertise in ERP/MRP system(s) and MS Power Platform Tools preferred.

The base pay for this position is

$75,300.00 – $150,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
