Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Electronics & Instrumentation Engineer responsible for maintaining plant machinery, process instrumentation, and control systems. The role will drive automation, robotics, vision systems, and AI/ML-based solutions from concept to implementation and scale-up.
The incumbent will also lead digital transformation initiatives, machine reliability improvements, and energy optimization projects while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and integrated management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Execute Preventive, Predictive (including thermography), and Breakdown Maintenance for critical equipment.
Maintain and periodically inspect critical safety devices across all plant equipment.
Monitor and improve plant engineering performance metrics such as Uptime, MTBF, and MTTR.
Identify and analyze root causes of major equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives on machines and maintenance processes.
Develop and upgrade Preventive Maintenance (PM) checklists.
Prepare and manage annual preventive maintenance schedules.
Troubleshoot process instrumentation systems and automated processes.
Manage procurement, repair, and inventory of machine spare parts.
Prepare and manage annual maintenance spare budgets.
Drive cost savings through localization and frugal engineering initiatives.
Lead automation projects from concept to implementation and scale-up.
Implement robotics, machine vision systems, and AI/ML-enabled solutions for process improvement.
Drive data automation and digital transformation initiatives for plant operations.
Maintain and sustain automation systems for long-term operational effectiveness.
Manage PLC program backups and drive parameter backups.
Experience working with:
Chemical mixing processes and associated instrumentation
Continuous process lines, such as:
Non-woven manufacturing lines
Resin coating lines
Continuous extrusion / compounding lines
Press shop operations, including:
Hydraulic presses
Tape slitting machines
Hands-on experience in automation project implementation is mandatory, with robotics experience preferred.
Troubleshooting PLC, VFD, Servo Drives, and HMI systems
PLC platforms such as:
Allen Bradley
Siemens
Mitsubishi
Delta
Experience with:
Allen Bradley
Schneider
Gefran
Mitsubishi
Knowledge of industrial communication networks including:
Ethernet
ControlNet
DeviceNet
SERCOS
RS232
Strong understanding of relay logic and electrical drawings
Ability to modify PLC logic and perform online troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with industrial instrumentation such as:
Pressure transmitters
Flow transmitters
RTDs
Thermocouples
Temperature transmitters
Level transmitters & switches
O₂ analyzers
I/P converters
LVDT sensors
Pressure switches & gauges
Proximity sensors
Ensure compliance with plant safety standards including:
LOTO (Lockout Tagout)
Machine guarding
Permit systems (Hot work, Height, Confined Space, Pipeline work)
Support OHSAS safety guidelines implementation
Maintain and sustain Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Knowledge of:
Fire alarm systems
Smoke detectors
UV sensors
Manual call points (MCP)
Fire hydrant systems
Sprinkler systems
Lead energy conservation initiatives
Identify and implement energy-saving projects across plant operations.
Mentor and develop a team of Diploma Technical Associates
Build technical capability within the maintenance team.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics / Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering
8+ years of experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, and plant maintenance
Chemical / Process Manufacturing
Non-woven manufacturing
Polymer / extrusion / compounding industries
Automotive component manufacturing
