Research, design, develop, or test electronic components and systems for commercial, industrial, or scientific use employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties. Design electronic circuits and components for use in fields such as telecommunications, aerospace guidance and propulsion control, acoustics, or instruments and controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  •       Responsible for the technical reliability of the plant and equipment for multiple production units and in coordination of the Production Superintendents.
  •     Provides technical expertise for process improvements, developments, maintenance reliability, equipment innovations, and state-of-the-art maintenance and project techniques. 
  •         Manages and supervises other Engineers and Technical Resources in the BU and provides leadership, guidance, and technical learning support.  Selects, trains, and provides performance guidance to ensure the development of an effective and knowledgeable engineering staff.
  •   Provides the BU with process, maintenance and project expertise, which combines process engineering with in-depth knowledge of the plant requirements.  The incumbent provides mature engineering judgment, creativity and foresight to initiate studies, projects and new developments and to anticipate and solve problems with a focus on long term technical solutions.
  • Develops the goals and objectives for the engineering department.  Observes and conducts performance in coordination with the Head of Fumed Silica Production-NA.
  •   Ensures regulatory compliance of the technical installations, maintenance practices and the technical documentation. Develops maintenance strategies and process improvements for multiple plants.


REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is required. A Master’s degree is a plus.

• 5-10+ years of general chemical industry experience required.

•Must have broad based skills in engineering and maintenance as well as planning and organizing.

•Must possess the theoretical technical knowledge combined with the analytical thinking and practical experience to effectively manage the Smart Effects process.
