About the Role:
Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to support the delivery of design and supervisory consultancy services for major transmission and substation infrastructure projects in Oman, including the Batinah 400kV, KIS 400/220kV, and Barka WTE 220kV projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting to ensure that project milestones are achieved efficiently and within the agreed timelines. The role requires strong coordination with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to support effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules and planning frameworks for transmission and substation infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare detailed baseline schedules, work breakdown structures, and project timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual performance and forecast completion dates.
  • Identify schedule risks, delays, and mitigation strategies to ensure project delivery targets are met.
  • Prepare and review progress reports, dashboards, and planning documentation for project management teams and clients.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors, and project stakeholders to align planning activities.
  • Analyze project data and provide schedule performance analysis and recommendations.
  • Support project managers in resource planning and project coordination activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project planning standards, reporting procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of project schedules, changes, and project controls documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Proven experience supporting power transmission, substation, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working in engineering consultancy or project management environments is preferred.
  • Professional certification, such as PMP or planning related certification, is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent project scheduling software.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling methodologies, and project controls processes.
  • Experience in preparing baseline schedules, delay analysis, and progress reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent coordination and stakeholder communication skills.
