High Level Position Summary

The Planning Engineer supports the development and delivery of patient-specific orthopedic surgical solutions by preparing and quality-checking pre-operative surgical plans and designing custom surgical guides. This role collaborates closely with engineers, clinicians, and global cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, high-quality surgical analyses. The position also contributes to establishing and scaling Enovis’ surgical planning capabilities, while driving innovation, process improvement, and alignment with the company’s strategic vision in orthopedic care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Quality assurance and preparation of pre-operative surgical analyses
  • Design custom-made, patient-specific surgical guides
  • Establish our Austin office for pre-operative surgical plan analysis, collaborating across time zones with peers in Australia and around the world
  • Collaborating with engineers, clinicians, and cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Enovis' strategic vision

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Recent graduate or 1+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or medical science
  • Experience working with CT segmentations or orthopedic surgical planning would be a plus
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work with complex technical data
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills
  • Constant focus on innovative ways to improve the ways we deliver our services & products
  • A person who is challenged by a constantly changing business environment and adapts quickly to this environment
  • A team player who can communicate effectively and meet tight deadlines
  • Must have initiative and take ownership of completion of tasks
