Maintenance Planner

Location:  Clondalkin, Dublin 22

Duration: Permanent 

39 hours per week

 

Overview of the Role: 

The Utility Planner is responsible for the planning development and scheduling of all maintenance activities on Utilities equipment within scope in line with details in the site CMMS system, as well as any follow-up activities required.  The Utility Planner will also review data trends after maintenance work is done and review any aspects of the maintenance activities that need changing to make the process more efficient. 


 

Day to Day of the Role: 

  • Development and planning of Maintenance programs in accordance with regulations, applicable safety considerations, EWI’s and SOPs. 

  • Co-ordinate the activities of the Maintenance planning and scheduling within the utilities area to ensure full on-time compliance with maintenance and calibration intervals.

  • Setting priorities, allocating resources, planning and scheduling the necessary preparatory work using the site CMMS while following established procedures.

  • Optimal planning of all maintenance activities (planned and unplanned) in close coordination with the Maintenance and Calibration Lead and the Site manager

  • Assist in analyzing reasons for unplanned maintenance work and ensure feedback/comments of historical significance are recorded where appropriate.  

  • Coordination of the preparation of all TRA (Task Risk Assessments) to support weekly planning process.

  • Coordination of site wide weekly planning meeting and recording of minutes.

  • Maintenance of reports and inspections to satisfy, Statutory, Environmental and Safety requirements.

  • Assist in the review and updating of operations and engineering related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Co-ordinate any call-out service contracts in line with PM schedules 

  • Support the trending and analyzing of performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of calibration and maintenance systems.

  • Record spares usage using data taken from CMMS.

  • Arrange all Area & System Shut- Downs in accordance with site procedures and protocols

  • Develop knowledge of utilities system interdependencies and identification of potential downtime

  • Monitor training curricula for all personnel within scope and liaise with training department to schedule training etc.

  • Implement and participate in utilities reliability programs 

  • Report Key Performance indicators on a weekly and monthly basis to the Contract Manager

  • Monitor, check and track performance with respect to:

  • Manage and record maintenance backlog

  • Work Completion including signing off 

  • PM completion levels


 

Required Skills for the Role:

  • Educated to trades / diploma / degree level

  • Have good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance planning, execution and administration of utility and or process equipment e.g. HVAC, steam, compressed air,, instrumentation, utilities and liquid-handling equipment

  • Evidence of self-development and leadership

  • Strong customer focus, with good interpersonal skills and a flexible approach

  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

  • Proven track record in the implementation of maintenance improvement processes

  • Experience in developing and implementing a planned maintenance programme, corrective maintenance condition-based maintenance, opportunity maintenance and major shutdown overhaul and repair

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Excellent interpersonal skills 

  • Positive “Can do” attitude

  • Team player

  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Ability to prioritise duties

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to tight deadlines

  • A track record in supervision, team management, investigation leadership and setting work direction. (Desirable)

  • Experience with reliability improvement (risk/consequence/failure mode).  (Desirable)

  • Ability to manage in-house alliance partner and OEM contractor staff in a team-based environment  (Desirable)
