Job Description

  

Teledyne DD-Scientific is a dynamic and fast-growing manufacturer of life saving products used in safety applications worldwide.  People across the globe rely on our technology every day to protect them against the hazards of flammable and toxic gases in their workplace.  Whether they want to know if there is enough oxygen to breathe underground, or too much hydrogen sulphide in a steel works, more and more safety conscious organisations are switching to our gas sensors to give them this vital information.  


We are looking for a planner to join our busy operations team, and help us drive production forward in a fast past environment.

Job Purpose:

To ensure efficient production of finished goods in line with current and forecast demand, internal capacity and availability of materials to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning of production in line with current demand.
  • Maintain the production plan and monitor raw material arrival and workshop capacity to ensure delivery dates are accurate and achieved once set.
  • Provide lead times to the sales team during the quotation process.
  • Communicate promised delivery times to the Order Handler by reviewing ERP, stock holding and workshop capacity.
  • Monitor material demand between production and service, ensuring that materials are allocated appropriately.
  • Create job cards in line with the production plan and ERP demand.
  • Support the implementation of a new ERP system and maintain the system post implementation to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate any delivery date changes or issues with the Production Manager and Order Handler
  • Communicate any material shortages or issues to the Purchasing department.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of operational processes and organisation.
  • Any other reasonable duties at the request of line and senior management.
  • Minimise waste and environmental impact where possible.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of ERP systems essential
  • Working within a manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Be numerate and have planning and analytical skills.
  • Have appropriate IT skills.

  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
