Job Summary: ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a PLANNER AND ESTIMATOR (AIRCRAFT) in the MRO Production Department of FRC WESTPAC DET IWAKUNI.

Major Duties:

  • You will evaluate depot-level structural repairs of forward-deployed USN/USMC aircraft that are located onboard U.S. Naval vessels and shore locations in all OCONUS theaters.
  • You will remove and replace aircraft structural components such as, but not limited to, blades, transmissions, fuel cells, power plants, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and flight controls.
  • You will perform planner and estimator services in support of aircraft depot-level In-Service Repair and parts manufacturing.
  • You will evaluate aircraft damage to establish man-hour estimates for repairs to determine type of damage, extent of work, and trade skills required.
  • You will prepare shop work orders specifying in detail the work to be accomplished, directing sequence of operations when appropriate and citing applicable publication references for repair or replacement criteria.
  • You will coordinate with supervisor and processing shops, adjusting priorities, rescheduling work and integrating workloads in order to meet the changing workload requirements.
