Salary Range: $165000 - $350000 Per Year

Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a primary advisor to the NSMRL Commanding Officer on all matters pertaining to medicine.
  • You will serve as a diving medical officer responsible for maintaining the readiness and medical qualifications of special duty personnel.
  • You will respond to submarine and diving medical research-related calls for information/taskers from Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC), BUMED, sponsors, or the Fleet.
  • You will conduct basic and applied research, as well as device testing and evaluation.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of undersea medicine sufficient to examine, diagnose, treat, and/or prevent medical conditions in the undersea environment, including hyperbaric and hypobaric environments. Experience practicing in all aspects of diving and submarine medicine. Experience utilizing knowledge of research methods, techniques, and procedures. Experience directing research programs and managing research teams in the medical sciences. Experience applying knowledge of and experience in writing and editing technical and scientific research information products, such as research proposals, technical reports, and journal articles.
