Full time: 40 hours
Monday to Friday

We’re looking for a talented Practice Manager to join our Primary Care Team based at our prestigious private patient GP Practice - The London General Practice.

As a GP Practice Manager you’ll be responsible for overseeing all administrative operations within the practice, ensuring the delivery of efficient, high-quality services that meet the needs of patients and clinicians. This exciting role provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of practice staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

You’ll also play an active role in developing and implementing projects in the practice. Set up continuous improvement measures including practice audits and streamlining work processes

What you’ll do:

  • Oversees all daily practice operations, including but not limited to: management of the medical secretaries (including temporary staff), appointment scheduling, clinical letters, billing procedures. Provision of medical secretary/administrative management and any additional support that is required to run the practice. 
  • Ensures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professionals and personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the patients. 
  • Ensure the smooth running of the practice and highest levels of customer service to the patients and GPs. Consults with other managers, supervisors and staff concerning practice operations, problem solving and service improvement.
  • Makes written and oral reports and recommendations to leadership concerning the operations of the clinics 
  • Perform weekly and monthly practice financial audits, reporting all discrepancies to line manager. Support the chairing of key meetings.
  • Oversee invoicing, debt collection and practice accounts where required
  • Acknowledge, investigate and respond to complaints with compassion, and in-line with the Complaints Handling policy. Escalate where appropriate.



What you’ll bring:
 

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in practice management or a supervisory role within a healthcare setting, ideally private practice.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Confident people manager with experience leading and developing teams, and knowledge of HR policies.
  • Proficient in practice management systems and operational reporting.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment, with strong attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of medical terminology, patient confidentiality, and high standards of patient care and service.
