Pharmacy Clinical Consulting Senior Advisor - Accredo - Hybrid (Oncology)

This is a Hybrid position (3 days per week in-office + 2 days work at home). The incumbent candidate can be based out of any US Cigna Healthcare office and is not restricted to locations that are listed in this posting. Remote candidates will be considered for the role if best qualified.

The Clinical Program Senior Advisor is the clinical subject matter expert for their assigned portfolio of specialty therapies. This open position is accountable for specialty Oncology.  Responsibilities include development of evidence-based Specialty Clinical Care Management programs and associated clinical assessments used by specialist clinicians to guide/document interactions with patients and physicians cared for within the Oncology specialty Therapeutic Resource Center.  The position is also responsible for working with product teams to develop evidence-based payer or manufacturer-specific programs, evaluate program performance and identify clinical opportunities to improve care/drive revenue streams, initiate research strategies to demonstrate Accredo expertise in the assigned therapies, and support educational and payer/sales team needs around the assigned therapies and protocols.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, transform, and maintain clinical assessments for the assigned specialty therapy area that allow Accredo to optimize care of patients while demonstrating clinical value.
  • Collaborate with product leads, pharma contracting and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for and/or develop clinical content for pharma-funded programs in assigned therapy areas. Actively contribute clinical market and pipeline insights to budget and other business planning.
  • Educate, inform, and develop training materials and monitor clinical metrics at the TRC level.
  • Collaborate with Payer Sales Support teams to edit request for proposal (RFP) content or other complex escalated client clinical challenges.
  • Align research and product teams in developing clinical research that demonstrates Accredo expertise and meaningful outcomes in therapy areas.
  • Develop educational and marketing content that will be used externally or for internal training purposes.  Professionally present such information as called upon.
  • Act as organizational clinical “subject matter expert” for assigned specialty therapy areas. Maintain professional knowledge base to support this level of expertise.
  • Support clinical business development needs as called upon related to specialty strategies in the assigned therapy area (drug list decisions, day’s supply logic, medical channel management inclusion, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy required.  Board Certification in Oncology (BCOP) or Residency training is desired but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required, specialty experience preferred.
  • Current US pharmacist license in good standing required
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft applications (including Visio) is desired.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills required.  Team orientation, leadership skills, and proactive/innovative work styles are a must.  Strong depth of clinical knowledge, ability to absorb new information quickly, and detail orientation are important.  Ability to collaborate in a team setting and with different clinical and nonclinical disciplines is critical.  Prior specialty experience desired.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 116,200 - 193,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
