Pharmacist-in-Charge - Accredo - Newark, DE

This role is worksite dependent and can only be performed onsite at our Newark, DE location.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

·        Provide leadership and direction as the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) for Accredo Newark to ensure highest level of compliance, quality, and efficiency. Plan, coordinate and direct dispensing, verification, and shipping of prescriptions within corporate and regulatory guidelines. Oversee maintenance of prescription records. Ensure quality and service standards are maintained along with client-specific contractual requirements. Maintain pharmacy security. Hold active pharmacist licensure in the State of Delaware and in states requiring PIC to be licensed in order to achieve Non-Resident Pharmacy permits.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·        Provides leadership and direction to management team and cross-functional partners with regard to issues of regulatory compliance and procedures related to the practice of pharmacy

·        Ensures appropriate auditing processes are established to foster compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and SOPs

·        Actively participates within the Pharmacy Practice organization to improve the quality, compliance, professional development and processes of all professional pharmacist functions

·        Leads project teams to improve various aspects of pharmacy practice. Works with local management team to facilitate a continual quality improvement process including ongoing quality planning and process improvement projects

·        Monitors and analyzes data and procedures to improve quality, efficiency and pharmacy flow

·        Handle escalated employee issues and complaints. Interfaces with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with pharmacy law, maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies and promote Accredo professional interests

·        Shared planning, coordination and direction of dispensing, verification, and shipping of prescriptions within corporate and regulatory guidelines. Responsible for any and all procedures within the pharmacy. Oversee maintenance of prescription records. Ensure quality and service standards are maintained along with client-specific contractual requirements and REMS programs

·        Oversees implementation of new clients. Foster ongoing client relationships by troubleshooting escalated issues

·        Keep updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance

·        May represent the pharmacy at the State Board for procedural, regulatory changes or other actions as needed

·        Maintain pharmacy security, including physical and system access controls

·        Represent Pharmacy Practice in cross-functional meetings and projects. Prepare to implement and communicate new corporate initiatives and processes within the pharmacy

·        Responsible for good housekeeping techniques, adhering to quality and production standards while complying with all applicable company, state and Federal safety and environmental programs and procedures

·        Other duties as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·        Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, RPh, or PharmD

·        Current pharmacist licensure in Delaware; active and in good standing; cross-licensed per state regulations. Must be willing to obtain additional state licenses, including CA, per business needs.

·        Years of Experience: At least 7 years' of experience in dispensing pharmacy, at least 2 years in healthcare or PBM industry preferred

·        Previous supervisory experience preferably in mail service pharmacy experience preferred

·        Computer or Other Skills: PC skills including Microsoft office, email and Internet

·        Extensive knowledge of current pharmacy regulations

·        Experience in representing or interacting with State Board or regulatory agencies very helpful

·        Experience with strategic work planning and budgeting very helpful

·        Must have proven leadership skills, team orientation, and a proactive and optimistic management style

·        Superior communication skills, including presentations and written correspondence

·        Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, to solve complex problems and to improve quality and service

·        Willingness to travel limited amounts

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 124,800 - 208,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
