CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG), a AAA insurer, is one of the leading personal lines property and casualty insurance groups in the United States. Here, every employee shapes our mission. We build innovative, human-centered solutions that help AAA members prevent, prepare for, and recover from life's uncertainties. You will join a collaborative, inclusive culture where your strengths have room to grow and your ideas can drive real impact. Step into a role where you can contribute to our shared success through meaningful work.

We are actively hiring for a Personal Lines Insurance Catastrophe Risk Product Manager - Remote

Your Role: This role serves as the organizational lead for catastrophe risk initiatives, aligning underwriting, actuarial, reinsurance, product, and analytics teams to implement strategy. Rather than performing hands-on modeling, you will interpret model outputs and translate insights into underwriting, pricing, exposure management, and portfolio diversification strategies across our footprint. You will own specific focus areas (e.g., flood, inflation) while helping drive the company’s overall catastrophe strategy.

This role sits at the intersection of catastrophe analytics, product strategy, underwriting, and capital management. You will interpret catastrophe model outputs and turn those insights into practical actions that balance growth, profitability, and risk resilience across our personal lines property portfolio.

This is a unique opportunity to shape enterprise-wide catastrophe risk strategy and influence the future of personal lines property products.

We are open to Product Manager levels 1–3 for this role. Leveling will be determined through the interview process.

Your Work:

  • Shape personal lines catastrophe risk strategy
  • Define and evolve our countrywide catastrophe risk management approach
  • Establish concentration risk thresholds and portfolio diversification strategies
  • Translate catastrophe model insights into actionable underwriting and pricing strategies
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Serve as the organizational quarterback for initiatives across underwriting, actuarial, reinsurance, analytics, and product teams
  • Lead complex initiatives that strengthen portfolio resilience and growth
  • Align business groups on strategy and drive execution through influence and collaboration
  • Drive portfolio risk management
  • Monitor catastrophe exposure and total insured values across geographies and perils
  • Develop strategies to manage accumulation risk and improve portfolio diversification
  • Project manage implementation of underwriting guidelines, product changes, and operational controls that support risk objectives
  • Turn analytics into business decisions
  • Interpret catastrophe model outputs and communicate their practical implications
  • Drive organizational understanding on the impacts of inflation and macroeconomic trends to our total insured values and manage insurance-to-value of the book
  • Team with reinsurance, actuarial, and capital management teams to evaluate catastrophe exposure and loss volatility
  • Leverage catastrophe risk capabilities
  • Find opportunities to improve catastrophe risk monitoring, reporting, and decision frameworks
  • Lead initiatives such as improved accumulation management tools, coastal underwriting rules, or portfolio diversification programs
  • Stay ahead of Insurance industry trends related to catastrophe risk, climate impacts, and emerging modeling approaches
  • Serve as a catastrophe risk subject matter expert
  • Provide guidance to internal business leaders on catastrophe risk implications and portfolio management strategies
  • Communicate complex risk insights clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Shape strategy by defining acceptable concentration risk thresholds and determining the markers for long-term success of our personal lines property book

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, risk management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in personal lines insurance product management, underwriting, catastrophe risk management, or related roles
  • Strong understanding of catastrophe modeling outputs and how they inform insurance pricing, underwriting, and portfolio management decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives through influence rather than direct authority
  • Experience developing strategies that balance growth, profitability, and catastrophe risk exposure
  • Strong analytical and financial evaluation skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into business decisions
  • Ability to operate across both strategic and tactical levels of a project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences (e.g. proposals, PowerPoint presentation, business requirements, Microsoft project, Suite Microsoft Office)
  • Strong organizational and project leadership capabilities with experience driving initiatives from concept through execution
  • Solid understanding of insurance product mechanics, underwriting strategy, and portfolio management
  • Ability to travel as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings, industry events, and other in-person meetings

What would make us excited about you?

  • You enjoy turning catastrophe risk insights into clear, actionable business strategy
  • You thrive in cross-functional leadership roles where success depends on influence, alignment, and collaboration
  • You are comfortable navigating both strategic portfolio decisions and operational execution
  • You bring curiosity about emerging catastrophe risks, climate trends, macroeconomic impacts, and evolving insurance market dynamics
  • CPCU and/or Actuarial exams
  • Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., supporting employee resource groups, mentoring employees, volunteering, joining cross-functional projects)
  • Champions our cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.)
  • Demonstrates a company ownership mindset, thinking beyond boundaries of their own area
  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc

Please note we are hiring for this role remote anywhere in the United States with the following exceptions: Hawaii and Alaska.
