Permit Technician
Location: Grangecastle
Duration: Permanent
39 hours per week
Overview of the Role:
The Utility Permit Technician is responsible for operating the site permit to work process within the Utility boundaries and ensure all permits to work are fit for purpose. The Utility Permit Technician will stand in for the Utility Permit Co-ordinator to cover annual leave etc.
Day to Day of the Role:
Operate a process to which all permit requestors will adhere on site in line with the SOP that governs the Permit to Work System including the new Electronic version of the system.
Ensure adherence to the above process by everyone requesting a permit within the Utility boundaries.
Along with the Utility Permit Coordinator review all permits submitted for Utility sign off to ensure the meet the required standard and ensure all “ancillaries” documentation is available as required.
Work closely with the Utility shift operation to ensure they are fully up to date on the permit status for the day.
Work closely with all requestors to ensure they are brought up to speed with the standard required by this process and eliminate rework and time wastage.
Develop permit templates for routine Veolia work by liaising with the various day teams working across the site.
Converse with Permit Requestors etc to ensure that they work under permit guidelines
Required Skills for the Role:
Educated to trades / technical ordinary degree or equivalent/ technical degree level
Have good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Power Point, etc.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in safe systems to work and both maintenance and operation within a Pharma environment.
Evidence of self-development and leadership

Proven track record in the implementation of safe systems to work processes

Experience with computerised Maintenance Management Systems, EAMS or equivalent.
Experience in Engineering Environment, particularly in Pharmaceutical.
Experience with electronic permit to work systems.
Ability to manage in-house alliance partner and OEM contractor staff in a team-based environment
