As the Permit Issuer / HS&E Coordinator, you will report to the Manager, HS&E and Construction Manager, and take the lead in applying your strong knowledge of industrial construction processes, safe work permits, and HS&E to support the project. As the Permit Issuer you will evaluate the work being performed and ensuring that it aligns with the HSE programs and Procedures. The Permit Issuer will also ensure that any critical work that may impact other planned work is coordinated between groups and that work permits are issued accordingly. With your strong understanding of Industrial construction work, safety management systems, legislation, and industry standards, you will confidently apply this knowledge across various work environments with minimal supervision. This is a site-based position and may require travel to different sites.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and issue safe work permits to ensure work can be completed safely and in accordance with Ledcor’s HS&E Programs, procedures, and applicable hazard assessments, without affecting other planned activities
- Permit Process Guidance: You provide on-site guidance to operations management on implementing the permitting process, and address issues related to work task coordination, emergency response, and HS&E requirements
- Documentation: You ensure all applicable permits and supporting documents are completed prior to issuing permits, and file them in accordance with site document retention requirements
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of construction experience in Industrial Construction
- 2+ years in a permit issuer role or similar
- HS&E advisor experience preferred
- Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proven ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders across all levels of project hierarchy, fostering cooperation and compliance with HS&E standards
- Ability to pass all pre-access requirements including clean driver's abstract and drug screen and breathalyzer
