Bankwest

Performance Marketing Manager

Perth Central Full time

Your division:

Bankwest has a proud 130-year history and we’re on a journey to become Australia’s favourite digital bank.

The Customer, Marketing and Communications team brings together the key functions responsible for deeply understanding our customers and delivering how Bankwest shows up in market. We develop customer-led propositions, generate insights to shape decision-making across the business, and create compelling communications that connect with our audiences — from customers and colleagues to partners, stakeholders, and the wider community.

Your team:

The Brand and Experience team is a multi-disciplinary group spanning strategy and planning, marketing, sponsorships, brand, social, UX, and product design. Together, we build brand impact and deliver best-in-class customer experiences that attract and engage customers.

This role sits within the Strategy & Planning team, reporting to the Senior Manager. The team is responsible for defining Bankwest’s marketing strategy and channel approach. Working closely with Product Marketing Managers, the team uses business, customer, market, and campaign insights to identify opportunities, guide go-to-market direction, and deliver on our ambitious business goals.

About the role

We’re looking for a data-driven Performance Marketing Manager to drive the planning, optimisation, and performance of our acquisition activity.

As Bankwest transitions to a full-service digital bank, this role is critical in elevating our performance marketing channels to be market-leading.

Sitting at the intersection of media, data, and technology, you will partner with product marketing leads to drive measurable growth through paid channels, translating data into actionable insights. Ensuring we are maximising and future proofing our marketing and ad tech infrastructure to deliver against shared business objectives.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how we use data and technology to continuously improve performance across channels, working closely with internal SMEs and external media and SEM partners.

You will work across our core products — including deposits, credit cards, and home loans — while identifying opportunities within digital experiences to drive app downloads and customer sign-ups.

This role may also have one direct report (Marketing Coordinator).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimise performance marketing campaigns across SEM, paid social, display, and affiliate channels with key marketing SMEs.
  • Jointly drive efficient customer acquisition and ROI, using ongoing performance optimisation and experimentation
  • Leverage platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Campaign Manager (DCM), and internal insights tools to monitor performance and inform decision-making
  • Support the evolution of our ad tech stack, ensuring tracking, measurement, and platforms are set up for success
  • Develop and evolve reporting frameworks, translating data into clear, actionable insights
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve channel and campaign performance, with a focus on continuous optimisation and future readiness
  • Partner with internal teams and agency partners to ensure best practice execution and ongoing improvement
  • Contribute to test-and-learn strategies, including experimentation and A/B testing
  • Collaborate closely with Planning and Product Marketing Managers to align performance activity with broader marketing strategy and deliver campaigns to market.
  • Coach and support junior team members to build capability

Note: Campaign execution and trafficking are managed by agency partners.

About you:

  • Passionate about data, analytics, and performance marketing
  • Proven experience across SEM, paid social, and affiliate/performance media channels
  • Strong experience with analytics and ad tech platforms (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Campaign Manager)
  • Ability to translate media data into insights and influence decision-making
  • Confident presenting results and insights to stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive mindset with a strong test-and-learn approach
  • Strong stakeholder management across marketing and broader business functions (product, UX, compliance, customer insights)
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering against marketing performance targets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Figma advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing or advertising
  • Prior experience within financial services or media agency environment is desirable
