General Summary:
This position is accountable for delivering end-to-end program planning for P&C’s global key initiatives. Program planning will include assisting in implementing strategies, creation of roadmaps, implementation plans, change/adoption plans, success metrics, and communications plans. The incumbent will be accountable for overall management of end-to-end programs, as well as virtual teams, and will use best practices and learned knowledge to resolve complex issues in situations where there may not be a precedence.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading teams to implement strategy, roadmaps, change/adoption management plans, success metrics, and implementation plans for multiple large multi-disciplinary cross-functional initiatives for the Global Enterprise that enhance how Unum supports our employees/managers, clients, and evolving business models
- Leads more than one large program to deliver these initiatives with responsibility for coaching and directing the work of those assigned from P&C
- Drives large process and operational improvements, thinking creatively to deliver innovations to improve the Unum employee and manager experiences, influences implementation in functional areas within P&C
- Partners with Strategy and Planning Team colleagues, HRBPs, P&C SLT to drive the end-to-end change adoption plan for key initiatives that impact the Global Unum workforce
- Effectively presents data and analysis for key performance indicators, recommendations, and trends; responsible for regular program reporting
- Builds strong partnership across P&C to ensure consistency and operating effectiveness
- May oversee a small team of program managers
- May perform other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
- Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with 7 years of project management experience
- Experience with large scale organizational transformations and or implementations, preferably in HR (e.g., M&A, OD restructures)
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management and create strong working relationships
- Demonstrated strength in influencing others and delivering functional results
- Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills; Proficiency in project planning methodologies and tools with the ability to adapt and solve problems proactively and creatively
- Strategic and systems thinking capabilities; Continuous improvement mindset to recommend and implement changes (Six-Sigma, TQM, process engineering certification or training, added plus)
- Proven experience leading adoption/change rollout of HCM systems, software for workforce end users and/or driving size-able cross-functional organizational redesign efforts in a mid- to large-size corporate setting (ADKAR Certification or Practitioner added plus)
- Strong collaboration and facilitation skills
- Ability to manage in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Innovative thinker, comfortable with change and trying new approaches

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$75,500.00-$142,700.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
