ABOUT THE ROLE 

As a Workday Developer (Reporting), you will play a critical role in building the data foundation that drives our global workforce decisions. You will step away from purely transactional service to actively design, configure and optimise advanced Workday reporting solutions and data models. As a Workday Developer, your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing HR operational workflows, ensuring the organization can effectively respond to evolving business demands and maintain a strong competitive position within the industry. What you will do: 

  • Advanced Reporting: Design, develop, and maintain complex Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite and Trending) to support HR Business Partners and executive leadership. 
  • Data Modelling & Architecture: Create and manage complex calculated fields, custom objects and support the structuring of Workday data models to ensure optimal performance and scalability. 
  • Dashboard Configuration: Develop and maintain Workday Dashboards, Scorecards and Discovery Boards to enable self-service analytics for business leaders. 
  • Cross-System Integration Support: Collaborate with the wider tech and analytics team to support data extraction and integration between Workday and external data lakes/BI tools (e.g., Azure, Power BI). 
  • Consulting & Troubleshooting:  Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday  reporting, translating complex business requirements into technical solutions and troubleshooting data or configuration issues. 
  • Deliver end-to-end support for Workday HCM modules by diagnosing issues, providing user assistance, and addressing functional queries. 
  • Design, develop, test, and delivery of new Workday and third-party systems integrations 
  • Draft detailed technical specifications, conduct unit and integration testing, deploy and support of all Workday and third-party system integrations 
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and implement minor system modifications, including configuration changes and enhancements. 
  • Work closely with HR teams and key stakeholders to collect requirements for minor system improvements, ensuring prompt and precise execution. 
  • Contribute to system testing, data verification, and quality control processes associated with functional updates and modifications. 
  • Ensure all support actions, change requests, and configuration choices are thoroughly documented and kept current. 
  • Keep informed of emerging trends and best practices in Workday HCM, proactively integrating relevant advancements to enhance system efficiency. 

What you will need: 

  •  Proven, hands-on experience (ideally 2-4 years) as Workday Reporting Developer, Consultant or Analyst with hands-on experience supporting Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) in an operational environment. 
  • Extensive expertise in HR business processes and proficiency with Workday HCM modules, such as Core HCM, Help and Document Management, Core Compensation, Recruiting, and Absence and Time Tracking. 
  • Proven experience in managing ongoing support and minor configuration changes within Workday 
  • Technical Core: Deep, practical expertise in Workday Report Writer and an excellent command of Calculated Fields. 
  • Workday Architecture: Solid understanding of Workday Core HR data sources, business processes, and the Workday Security Model (domain and role-based security). 
  • Communication: Fluent English with the ability to explain technical constraints and data logic to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with Workday PRISM Analytics, BIRT formatting, or broader HR data visualisation concepts.
