Position Summary
Join us as a Payroll Time Tracking Analyst — a hands‑on role crucial to delivering accurate, timely payroll for 3,000+ employees. You’ll support the Payroll Manager and our managed payroll provider in bi‑weekly processing, own and validate time‑tracking inputs that feed payroll systems, troubleshoot discrepancies, and recommend process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce risk. This role demands a proactive, detail‑oriented professional who safeguards confidential information, communicates clearly across teams, and keeps payroll operations running smoothly under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities

Maintain compliance with Canadian federal and provincial payroll laws and CRA requirements; monitor legislative changes and update tax-code setups.
Calculate, validate and reconcile payroll taxes (CPP, EI, income tax); manage tax payables/remittances and prepare statutory filings (T4/T4A/RL‑1).
Support audits and respond to CRA/provincial inquiries; maintain accurate supporting documentation and provide timely data for internal/external reviews.
Assist with end‑to‑end payroll operations: support Payroll Manager and managed provider in bi‑weekly processing, maintain payroll systems, internal controls, records and time‑tracking inputs.
Lead year‑end activities and remittance reconciliations, perform earning/deduction code mappings, and proactively resolve discrepancies.
Process retro adjustments and other payroll corrections; investigate issues, recommend and implement corrective actions.
Partner with internal teams, external advisors and vendors to resolve tax/payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate setup of payroll elements.
Drive process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce costs and strengthen controls and documentation.
Provide confidential, timely responses to employee payroll inquiries and serve as liaison with HRSC for training, updates and escalations.

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
3–5 years’ payroll experience in large regional or global organizations, including multi‑province or multinational environments
Bilingual English/French (required)
Strong working knowledge of CRA and provincial payroll tax rules and compliance
Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Workday or similar) and Workday reporting preferred
Advanced Excel and proficient Microsoft Office skills
Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and payroll tax/payables processes
Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Excellent organizational, time‑management, and multitasking skills; able to prioritize and follow up on projects
Customer‑focused, collaborative team player who can also work independently and adapt to changing priorities
Proven ability to handle highly confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Remote-capable and self‑directed: reliably available during core hours, meets deadlines, proactively communicates status/issues, maintains a secure home‑office, and protects confidential payroll information.
Preferred Qualifications
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Canada Payroll Association PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner)
CPA designation or in‑progress; CPP or FPC certification — preferred
Workday certification and proven experience building/consuming Workday reports
Experience with managed payroll providers and large payroll populations (e.g., 3,000+ employees)
Hands‑on experience with year‑end remittances, T4/T4A/RL‑1 filings, retro processing and overpayment management
Practical knowledge of payroll impacts for acquisitions, global mobility, relocation, benefits, leave, equity and savings plans
Strong Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems integrations
Experience supporting CRA/provincial audits and responding to tax authority inquiries
Background working with finance teams and third‑party vendors on reconciliations and payables
