The Payroll, Time & Benefits Lead is based in San José, Costa Rica, and reports to the Country Group Lead LATAM • HCF • Roche SSC Americas . This role delivers the shared services strategy and ensures efficient and effective operations while exceeding service and quality standards in the area of Payroll, Time or Benefits to ensure the efficient operation of the function within Roche Services Americas.
The Opportunity:
Lead and manage the Payroll, Time and Benefits operations team to deliver best services and solutions to clients.
Ensure consistent and reliable service delivery in accordance with agreed performance levels (KPI) and in line with legal/regulations (compliance).
Proactively seek, identify, and drive continuous improvement activities/projects for service enhancement (simplification, standardization, automation).
Lead and facilitate people processes in line with Roche Leadership commitments, People Practices, and policies.
Role model Roche operating principles and drive employee retention, engagement, and talent management through frequent check-ins on Career, Capabilities, Connections, and Contributions.
Sustain a win-win relationship with external vendors by setting and measuring performance KPIs and regularly assessing vendor performance.
Collaborate with peers within the region and globally to ensure the PSS network provides consistent and effective services to customers.
Apply data analytics and reporting based on customer queries to provide People insights for proactive policy/program design and improved employee relationship management.
Who you are:
You have 5+ years of payroll, time, and benefits experience, with 2+ years of experience leading a Payroll team.
You bring a proven track record leading teams, preferably in an HR services environment, and strong leadership skills.
You demonstrate strong analytical skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
You possess strong service management skills and experience in streamlining processes and eliminating waste.
Language Requirement: Fluent in English is required; Portuguese is a plus.
You have prior experience in executing and evaluating of internal controls, targeted at minimizing operational risks.
You have good knowledge of Workday HR Processes and experience working with CRM/Request Management Software.
Core Capabilities: You embody customer centricity, end-to-end accountability, problem-solving ability, and a growth mindset.
Bachelor's Degree is preferred
