We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Supervisor within our Human Resources Department in Amsterdam

Your impact at MUFG
In this role you will ensure end to end payroll delivery, including but not limited to, pre-payroll activities and controls, payroll calculation checks, payment and post payroll activities such as payroll accounting controls and tax/social security and pension reconciliation.

The role includes the following:
Essential Functions*:
Payroll delivery
Responsible for delivering quality and on time payroll to MUFG employees in the Netherlands
Act as the first point of contact and subject matter expert for any MBE payroll projects
Act as the first point of contact for payroll support and be responsible for establishing and preserving strong relationships with internal clients, providing accurate and timely customer service and resolving payroll queries and transactions, including complex issues, within agreed service levels.
Responsible and accountable for escalating any issues in a timely manner and own resolution.
Responsible for ensuring collaboration with the wider HR Team advising on payroll related matters and supporting as SME with key stakeholders
Audit and Controls
Responsible for payroll operational controls execution and review
Responsible and accountable for ensuring that payroll is compliant with all regulatory, policy and legislative requirements
Responsible and accountable for keeping up to date with legislation and regulatory changes, maintaining continual professional development
Being the main point of contact for completion of payroll internal and external audits and liaison with Head of HR Shared Services for sign-off
Responsible for creating and maintaining the Business Continuity Planning for the payroll department
Trusted advisor within the HR Team
Responsible for supporting the business and HR team in relation to Payroll activities.
Responsible for educating and informing business and HR team about their role in the payroll process
Responsible for creating/updating relevant Kizuna knowledge articles
Be an ambassador for the 'One MUFG' vision and bring it to life in EMEA HR.
Vendor Management
Responsible for payroll vendor relationship management, including regular service reviews, monitoring of their performance and compliance, in coordination with the procurement department.
Payroll Queries and process management
Ensure payroll queries in the CMT are answered within SLA for the Netherlands, that all requests for changes are tracked in the tool
Ensure reporting on payroll KPIs (e.g.: pay slip accuracy, payroll timeliness, tax and pension reconciliation) and for setting up action plans to improve
Work in line with MUFG culture and payroll principles demonstrating high performance culture – support in being a highly driven payroll team that is engaged and supports change
Payroll Process Improvement and Process documentation
Accountable for suggesting, designing and implementing process improvements and efficiencies for the payroll team to improve working practices, ensuring regional/global framework alignment. Design creative solutions that contribute to achieving MUFG’s vision and strategy.
Being the main point of contact for Global Payroll activities and projects.
Responsible and accountable for maintaining process documents and guidelines to include any changes to processes that are owned outside of Payroll but are processed within the team. Ensuring any changes are documented, communicated and adhered to whilst maintaining a central repository for all Payroll processes.
In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:
Skills and experience:
Demonstrating detailed understanding of Dutch payroll legal framework and strong interest in other European countries payroll regulations
Having the ability to communicate effectively, informatively and with sensitivity, with a wide range of employees to maintain confidentiality and inspire trust
Demonstrating a high level of literacy and numeracy sufficient to undertake complex letter writing and reports, statistical analysis of performance data and complex calculations – attention to detail
Being results driven, with a strong sense of accountability whilst comfortable making decisions demonstrating the ability of having sound judgement
Demonstrating a proactive, motivated approach
Managing conflicting priorities and re-prioritize work accordingly
Demonstrating a structured and logical approach to work whilst considering innovation.
Managing large workloads and tight deadlines and maintaining a calm approach, with the ability to perform well in a pressurized environment.
Full Proficiency in Dutch and English
Good knowledge of ADP as a vendor and proficiency in using iHCM
Good knowledge of Global mobility employees and shadow payroll
Excellent payroll accounting skills
Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders and vendors across the region and globally to share best practices, provide support and develop effective local policies and procedures appropriate to the Company, and working in support of the One MUFG and overall Group strategy.
