Payroll Manager

As a Payroll Manager at Legend Biotech, you ensure a flawless, timely and fully compliant payroll for Belgium and Ireland. You combine operational excellence with continuous optimization and lead a team that makes a difference for our employees every day.

What can you expect?

  • Taking full ownership of the payroll for Belgium and Ireland and ensuring that every payroll run proceeds flawlessly, correctly and compliantly — month after month.
  • Validating all payroll inputs, checks and calculations and safeguarding data quality within HRIS, payroll and T&A.
  • Translating social legislation and changes effortlessly into clear payroll processes and clear internal guidelines.
  • Building strong collaborations with external payroll and T&A partners and guaranteeing an efficient, qualitative and transparent service provision.
  • Acting as the go-to expert for complex payroll cases, performing root-cause analyses and ensuring sustainable solutions.
  • Bringing calm and reliability to a complex shift and T&A environment and ensuring that employees are correctly compensated for what they do.
  • Monitoring structural issues around shift complexity and proactively improving processes and controls.
  • Continuously looking ahead and optimizing processes, systems and controls to make payroll scalable, future proof and less dependent on manual actions.
  • Coaching, motivating and growing a payroll team as a people leader, with a strong focus on quality, ownership and collaboration.
  • Working as a strategic partner with HR, Finance and the business and advising on the payroll impact of changes and projects.

Who are we looking for?

Education

  • Master’s degree in HR, Finance, Business or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of Belgian payroll experience in a medium to large company.
  • Strong experience with shift‑based populations and complex T&A environments
  • Prior team leadership or coordination experience within payroll teams.

Languages

  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

Strengths

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of Belgian social legislation (Belgian legislation required, Irish legislation is a plus).
  • Experience with Sox audit compliancy is a plus.
  • Strong analytical ability, accurate, solution-oriented and hands-on.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Integrity, discretion and a pragmatic way of explaining complex topics.

Expertise

  • Process optimisation, standardisation, and (semi‑)automation.
  • System ownership of payroll, payroll interfaces and T&A.
