About the Role

This isn't just about payroll operations – it's about owning and transforming the entire payroll function. As our National Payroll Transformation Lead, you'll be accountable for the performance and evolution of payroll across Australia. While your National Payroll Manager leads the day-to-day operations and ensures flawless execution, you'll maintain oversight while focusing your energy where it creates most value: driving systemic improvements, implementing game-changing solutions, and elevating payroll from a transactional function to a strategic business enabler.

You'll have the authority to reshape how we work, the autonomy to challenge conventions, and the mandate to implement changes that matter. With operational excellence handled by your National Payroll Manager, you're positioned to focus on transformation, innovation, and strategic value creation that will define the future of our payroll function.

What You Will Actually Do:

  • Drive payroll transformation through a 1–3 year roadmap, system implementations, and process improvements.

  • Standardise and optimise payroll processes across all operations, building frameworks for continuous improvement.

  • Develop practical policies and procedures that support efficiency and compliance.

  • Leverage SAP and other technologies to automate payroll, optimise data, and build actionable analytics.

  • Create dashboards and insights that enable better business decision-making.

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations leaders to provide strategic guidance and thought leadership.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships and build business cases to invest in payroll capabilities.
