Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
Working with an established Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be part of the process of ensuring monthly payroll for both the UK and Ireland employee groups is successfully completed, as well as looking to improve automation and increase efficiencies around this process.
The candidate will be responsible for collating data from multiple sources, and creating the monthly payroll templates and final reporting packs, seeking approvals from the key stakeholders, and ensuring payments are made on a timely basis to our payroll providers. There is scope for further automation of processes within this role, so a familiarity with Excel templates would be advantageous.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Collating various outputs to prepare monthly payroll reports for both UK and Ireland
- Preparing calculations for shift allowances and overtime
- Recording new employee data in both internal systems and with our external payroll provider
- Processing the impact of new joiners / leavers on monthly payroll
- Submitting reports to various key stakeholders for approval, and liaising with external payroll providers to ensure accuracy of reports
- Answering payroll related queries from employees of both UK and Ireland
- Liaising with our HR team where necessary on matters such as new joiners / leavers / sick pay / parental leave etc.
- Performing wider general accounting duties when required.
For this role, beneficial skills and proficiencies include:
- Prior experience with payroll processing in a large organization
- Knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, SMP, SPP etc.
- Excel skills around template building
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential data with care
