The Interiors Responsibility Center (IRC) organization is looking for a passionate, engaged, and qualified Engineering Leader to join our organization in
the role as Senior Manager for IRC South Carolina Design Engineering and IRC Ambassador to the 787 Program. The IRC operates in a
Product Team structure, partnering with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Senior Manager counterparts. Authority is given to make
strategic decisions aligned to Organizational direction. This role includes integration across multiple teams, and high visibility with both
Fabrication and Airplane Program Leadership. The role will be leading a team that has design responsibility for Details, Assemblies,
Installation and Aftermarket engineering for 787 Furnishings, Crew Rests, Stowbins, Secondary Supports, Light Limiting Headers, Seals, Lighting and
Stowbin Wiring. The team includes 5 first line managers, and approximately 65+ Design Engineers and Technical Designers.
As a Senior Manager the role includes responsibility for the strategy and vision for the team, and overall functional and technical excellence
of the team, including initiatives that focus on quality, people, and delivering results to the 787 Program. The Senior Manager will also be
expected to work with the first line leadership team to promote Engineering Excellence within the team, oversee development of critical skills
and succession plans, and be actively engaged in continuously supporting and elevating the skill and culture of the organization. This
position requires the ability to manage complex technical issues and prioritize multiple competing priorities and objectives. The successful
candidate will need to develop relationships with the ME and Operations Senior Manager counterparts, plus teammates in Supply Chain,
PP&C, Interiors IPT, Quality and our Global Workshare Partners. The team currently works in an office environment in the 88-30 building at the North
Charleston Airport campus, with plans to relocate in 2Q26 to the 88-50 IRC South Carolina Site in Ladson, SC.
Position Responsibilities:
• Manage employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical &
Structural Engineering.
• Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business
and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
• Acquire resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
• Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
• Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
• Manage, develop and motivate employees and first-level managers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• Previous experience leading a team as a manager
• Ability to travel 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of BCA payloads products and processes
