In this position, you will play a critical role in our patient’s cancer journey, being their first point of contact when they enter the clinic. This is a fast-paced role working across various workstations where priorities can quickly change, your ability to respond in an efficient, helpful and empathetic manner is essential.

More specifically, you will: 

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced administrative role with competing priorities where patient focus remains the top priority. 

  • Act as the first point of contact to patients and provide excellent patient service both face to face and over the phone. 

  • Book and confirm patients for appointments and consultations. 

  • Undertake the billing and receipting of invoices. 

  • Accurately process relevant paperwork including data entry across two clinical platforms. 

  • Continuously liaise and effectively communicate with the multidisciplinary teams across the practice to ensure efficient processes and maintain effective doctor relationships. 

  • Manage patient records and filing of patient notes. 

  • Ensure the smooth running and preparation of the clinic, including retrieving results, updating Medicare and health fund details, maintaining demographic and referral information. 

  • Gain a clear understanding of the funding mechanisms related to Radiation Oncology billings, Medicare and the Medicare Safety Net. Clearly communicate funding mechanisms, out of pocket fees and other account related enquiries in a compassionate manner to patients.

  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Proven ability to work successfully both independently and in a team environment. 

  • Exceptional phone manner and ability to handle a high volume of patient inquiries. 

  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional values.
