Job Description Summary
The Patient Sitter reports to the Staffing Office and Hospital Supervisors to obtain unit assignments. Under general supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Patient Sitter monitors the patient closely at all times and never leaves the patient alone to ensure patient safety. This role assists patients with activities of daily living and performs other general patient care duties as directed by the Registered Nurse. The Patient Sitter notifies the Registered Nurse immediately of any patient concerns. When not functioning as a Patient Sitter, this role provides support for the nurse’s station as assigned.Entity

As a Patient Sitter, you will play a vital role in protecting patients at risk for falls, injury, or self-harm. You will closely monitor their physical and emotional well-being and communicate concerns in real time to the care team to respond quickly.
