You will contribute directly to high‑quality aftermarket support by transforming complex engineering documentation into clear, usable parts information used by service teams, customers and internal stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to work in a specialised, international environment where technical accuracy, data quality and collaboration are key to operational success.
The position is based in Aarhus, Denmark, and offers a hybrid working model.
What you will do
As a Part Identification Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, validating and maintaining spare parts information for Sabroe industrial refrigeration equipment. Your work supports the integrity of the EMEA Install Base and enables efficient aftermarket operations for industrial refrigeration customers.
You will work closely with engineering, procurement, warehouse, and product management teams while supporting internal and external technical enquiries related to spare parts.
How will you do it
- Identify, validate and structure spare parts for Sabroe reciprocating compressors (e.g. SMC, CMO series) and Sabroe screw compressors (e.g. SAB series).
- Interpret assemblies, sub‑assemblies, BOMs, callouts and quantities using engineering documentation and 2D technical drawings.
- Identify supersessions, alternates, repair kits and assemblies, and replace legacy part numbers with current equivalents.
- Validate part applicability for specific models, variants, configurations and refrigerants such as ammonia (R717) and CO₂ cascade systems.
- Create and maintain structured spare parts data for upload into Easyparts, SAP and Oracle, ensuring compliance with Johnson Controls global standards.
- Support Install Base creation and maintenance for IREF units and compressors sold in EMEA.
- Handle technical enquiries via Zendesk, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, warehouse and product management teams to resolve part discrepancies and validate inventory.
- Support Critical Spare Parts Lists and participate in global ECN (Engineering Change Notice) processes.
What we look for
- 3–5 years of experience within OEM Industrial Refrigeration, compressors or aftermarket operations.
- Strong understanding of Sabroe products, including:
- Reciprocating compressors (SMC, CMO)
- Screw compressors (e.g. SAB 193, SAB 233, SAB 355)
- Industrial refrigeration systems using ammonia, CO₂ or other natural refrigerants
- Experience with spare parts identification and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience working with SAP and Oracle ERP systems.
- Strong Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data cleansing).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data integrity.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and collaborate across functions.
- Clear and effective communication skills and a customer‑oriented mindset.
Preferred
- Prior experience with Johnson Controls or Sabroe aftermarket operations.
- Knowledge of UniSAB control systems, Sabroe chillers, heat pumps or vessels.
- Familiarity with ECN processes and global parts release workflows.
- Background in industrial refrigeration service, commissioning or technical support.
What we offer
- An important role in a specialised global team supporting industrial refrigeration customers across EMEA.
- Hybrid working model based in Aarhus.
- Attractive salary package, pension and benefits.
- Employment in a global growth company with more than 130 years of history.
- Opportunities for professional development, learning and long‑term career paths within Johnson Controls.
- Flexible working hours and strong work‑life balance initiatives.
