Your key responsibilities
Ownership over ESBO’s legal matter process, including providing training to business stakeholders on legal request creation and management; and facilitating contract conclusion and signature.
Maintaining and improving team contact archives and advice note intranet.
Team support including with internal process tools (e.g. expenses; billing; automated NDA processes)
Contributing to team knowledge development including by reporting back on legal changes relevant to the business area and interesting industry updates.
Seeking and coordinating input from other colleagues across European subsidiary legal teams and ESBO business teams (Finance, Product, Tax etc) to assist in (i) pan-EU contracting for the procurement of services or key projects / engagements; and (ii) advising on pan-Euoprean and local laws relevant to ESBO.
Liaise with external law firms and specialists with whom we work.
Assisting with the preparation and negotiation of a broad range of commercial contracts (and associated documentation) relating to all ESBO business activities (e.g. channel & content licences, app distribution agreements, marketing agreements, media sales agreements (including supply-side platforms and trading agreements with agencies etc.).
Assisting with the provision of advice navigating legal and regulatory risk, particularly in the targeted advertising, streaming, and app distribution space.
Ad-hoc help with team events and projects.
Contribute to ensuring the team’s reputation within the wider business as a responsive, ambitious, trusted and commercially-minded legal function, including by managing our weekly Legal newsletter.
What we need for this role
Strong academics and a demonstrable interest in legal work e.g. having obtained a law degree, studying law presently, or a related subject.
You are interested in technology and in business. You are excited by the opportunity to work across legal disciplines and subject-matters. You are willing to learn and to take ownership of your development. You pick things up quickly.
You are highly organised and, as well as getting involved with more creative legal work, you will give your attention and commitment to more repetitive or detail-focussed work or administrative tasks when required.
You have excellent prioritisation skills and will hone the ability to filter multiple and varied tasks by risk-level, urgency and business-value.
You can identify when a question or concern should be escalated and are confident raising such with seniors. You have the humility and drive to learn from mistakes and build your skills and capabilities from experience and feedback.
You are are a team player who will support all members of the legal function and wider ESBO business in a patient, pragmatic and flexible manner. You can work under your own initiative.
You have strong written communication skills and attention to detail, and are keen to develop drafting, negotiation, research and issue-spotting skills.
You have outstanding communication skills with a focus on listening to others and an ability to adapt your tone to your audience, including with an awareness of different cultures, workstyles and seniorities.

You settle in well with the team, contributing effectively to our work from early stage including with contracts and pieces of advice.
You will fully understand the processes used by ESBO Legal and be trusted to manage creation and conclusion of legal requests in a timely and organised manner.
You will reach out for help when you need it, presenting solutions where possible.
You will begin to develop a knowledge of the ESBO business and the content, media, advertising and AdTech sector.
ESBO Legal contract archives and advice intranet will be maintained to a high standard, and improved where possible.
You will engage with and build relationships with stakeholders in ESBO.
You will regularly seek feedback from peers and stakeholders, and act on the same.
You will be a true business partner, helping ESBO to meet its targets/business objectives (and celebrating the wins along the way!).
